Selective Service Website
- Males must register for Selective Service at age 18 regardless of disability. Individuals can register for the Selective Service
at this website or find out other places available within the community where they can register in-person.
Georgia Guardianship, Wills, Trusts
- On this website you will find information and resources to assist you in matters such as estate planning,
acquiring marriage and firearms licenses, guardianships, and contacting your local Probate Court (your
best source for information). You will also find the Georgia Probate Court Standard Forms, which are

Assistance for students who will need accommodations in College/University in Georgia
- Regents Center for Learning Disorders at Georgia Southern University is one of three Centers established by
the Georgia Board of Regents, provides assessments, resources, as well as research related to students within
the University System who have learning disorders. Students attending any of the public colleges and universities
in the state of Georgia are eligible for these evaluations at their respective center.
Students with Disabilities Preparing for Postsecondary Education: Know Your Rights and Responsibilities
- Information from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights. As a student with a disability, you
need to be well informed about your rights and responsibilities as well as the responsibilities postsecondary
schools have toward you.
ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE TO MILITARY FAMILIES
Visit STOMP (Specialized Training of Military Parents)
- With a population of 1.5 million active duty military members, each day around the globe, there are an estimated
540,000 active duty sponsors each caring for a family member with special medical or educational needs. STOMP is
the only National Parent Training and Information Center for military families providing support and advice to
military parents without regard of the type of medical condition their child has.

Georgia Parent Mentor
- The goal of the Georgia Parent Mentor Program is to nurture communication among parents and educators, ultimately
leading to greater success for students with disabilities. The Liberty County Representative is Mrs. Lisa Vaughn.
Client Assistance Program
- Provides assistance in advising and informing clients and client-applicants of the State Vocational Rehabilitation
Program, of the available benefits under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended; to assist clients in their
relationships with projects, programs and facilities providing services to them under the Act (if requested); and
to provide information on available services under the Act to any individuals with handicaps in the state.
Georgia Advocacy Office, Inc.
- Provides advocacy for all Georgians with disabilities on issues of abuse, neglect, and civil violations.
Georgia Parent Support Network
- To support and advocate for children and their families with mental illness and behavioral differences.
Georgia's Council on Developmental Disabilities
- The GCDD serves as an advocate for all persons with developmental disabilities in Georgia. The Council is charged
with creating systems change for people with developmental disabilities and their families to: Increase independence,
inclusion, integration, productivity, and self-determination through such activities as public policy research, analysis
and reform, project demonstrations, and education & training.
Parent to Parent of Georgia
- Serves families of children with disabilities by providing emotional support through parent matching, disability
literature, quarterly newsletters, referral services, and has an available database with over 4000 resources available.
